My longest search was this for a wooden standing press, mostly the price here was a bummer! After years I was able to purchase, at a reasonable price, a wooden standing press of the mark "Poirier". Laurent Poirier was a manufacturer of “Presses, massicots et autres matériels de reliure” based in Paris (France). This manufacturer started in 1849 in de rue du Faubourg-Saint-Martin 36 and moved during their existence to number 33 and number 122-124, where they closed in 1863. It took us hours of cleaning and polishing, but now its a shiny "eyecatcher in working condition" in our studio.
